Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a calm and comforting environment.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space for the patient.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment as needed.
  • Prepare simple meals and ensure adequate nutrition and hydration for the patient.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse or care coordinator.
  • Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
  • Document care provided accurately and timely.
  • Respect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and hospice care guidelines.

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to follow instructions and care plans diligently
  • Basic understanding of personal hygiene and safety principles
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with patient transfers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional)
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
