Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and sort donated goods, including clothing, housewares, books, and electronics.
  • Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and salability, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Organize sorted items into designated categories and prepare them for pricing and display.
  • Handle items with care to prevent damage and maximize their resale value.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sorting area at all times.
  • Assist with moving inventory within the store and preparing items for transfer as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow and a positive work environment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in quality or condition.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks and processes.
  • Basic comprehension of English for understanding instructions and labels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in sustainability, recycling, or thrifting.
  • Previous experience in a volunteer role or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with various types of merchandise (e.g., clothing brands, collectibles).
