Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and meticulous Hospital Cleaner Support Staff to join our valued team, serving a reputable healthcare facility in Nyeri, Nyeri County. As a Cleaner Support Staff, you will be responsible for maintaining sterile and inviting spaces, from patient rooms and operating theaters to waiting areas and administrative offices. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing of floors, surfaces, and fixtures across all hospital areas.
- Sanitize and disinfect high-touch surfaces, medical equipment (non-critical), and patient care areas in strict accordance with hospital infection control policies and procedures.
- Empty and dispose of waste bins, including general waste, clinical waste, and sharps, following established hazardous waste management protocols.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring they are hygienic and adequately stocked with supplies.
- Replenish supplies such as hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in designated areas.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with laundry duties, including collecting, sorting, and transporting soiled linens, and distributing clean linens as required.
- Respond promptly to emergency spills or cleaning requests, ensuring a quick and effective resolution.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push/pull for extended periods.
