Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms and public areas according to established standards and procedures, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing.
- Change bed linens, make beds neatly, and replenish towels and amenities (toiletries, stationery, etc.) ensuring all items are stocked to hotel standards.
- Inspect rooms thoroughly for any damage, non-functioning equipment, or maintenance needs and report issues promptly to the supervisor or maintenance department.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries with professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy, striving to exceed expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, storage areas, and linen closets at all times.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes without compromising quality.
- Collaborate positively with other hotel staff, including front desk, maintenance, and food & beverage, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms, as required.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in all cleaning and presentation tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing carts, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also effectively as part of a diverse team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, sanitation practices, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6 months to 1 year) in a housekeeping role within a hotel, guest house, or similar hospitality environment is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment used in professional housekeeping.
- Ability to communicate effectively in basic English (both verbal and understanding instructions).
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
