Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Hotel Night Auditor to join a reputable hospitality establishment located on Ekewan Road, Benin City. This crucial overnight position is instrumental in ensuring the financial accuracy of daily transactions and the seamless operation of the hotel during late hours. As a Hotel Night Auditor, you will be the cornerstone of our overnight team, responsible for reconciling daily revenue, managing guest accounts, and providing exceptional service to any guests requiring assistance through the night. Your role demands a meticulous approach to auditing and reporting, coupled with the ability to handle front desk operations efficiently and professionally. You will be tasked with preparing comprehensive financial summaries for management, processing check-ins and check-outs, and acting as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries or emergencies that may arise. This position requires a professional who is reliable, capable of working independently, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills to address any unforeseen circumstances with composure. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all end-of-day hotel accounting and audit functions, including balancing daily room and tax charges, preparing daily financial reports, and ensuring accuracy of all transactions.
  • Process and reconcile all credit card, cash, and direct billing transactions from various hotel departments.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs during the night shift, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving issues to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor security systems and conduct regular property walks to ensure guest safety and property security throughout the night.
  • Prepare detailed management reports, including occupancy rates, revenue summaries, and daily activity logs.
  • Perform all standard front desk duties, including answering phones, making reservations, and providing local information.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and ensure data privacy protocols are strictly followed.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure seamless guest service and operational flow.
  • Manage emergency situations calmly and effectively, contacting appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Complete wake-up calls and deliver any requested amenities to guest rooms.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS), e.g., Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities in English.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar front office supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of local tourism attractions and services in Benin City.
  • Certification in hospitality management or front office operations.
  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management.
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages is a plus.
