Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, meticulous, and reliable Housekeeper to join our team immediately at Lapeng Thoteng Guesthouse in Motimposo, Maseru. This is a crucial role responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and inviting atmosphere of our guest rooms and common areas. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and common areas to the highest standards, including bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces.
- Change bed linen, make beds, and replace towels regularly.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish all surfaces, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
- Replenish guest room supplies such as toiletries, coffee, and other amenities.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish in accordance with guesthouse procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist with laundry duties as needed, including washing, drying, and folding.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and queries, always maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role (at least 6 months)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Reliability and punctuality
- Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members
- Understanding of hygiene and sanitation principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or guesthouse environment
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to speak Sesotho and English
