You will be responsible for a comprehensive range of tasks, from making beds with precision and replenishing fresh linens and plush towels to sparkling bathrooms and spotless common areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, suites, and public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms) according to hotel standards and procedures.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and amenities, ensuring attractive presentation.
  • Dust, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and polish furniture.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items promptly to supervision.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries with courtesy, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and guest room amenities, requesting replenishment as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel staff members, including front desk, maintenance, and laundry.
  • Ensure security of assigned keys and guest rooms.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role, preferably within the hospitality industry (hotel, guesthouse, lodge).
  • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, with a focus on safe usage.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience in a 3-star hotel environment or higher.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Sesotho and English.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
