Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, suites, and public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms) according to hotel standards and procedures.
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and amenities, ensuring attractive presentation.
- Dust, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and polish furniture.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items promptly to supervision.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries with courtesy, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and guest room amenities, requesting replenishment as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel staff members, including front desk, maintenance, and laundry.
- Ensure security of assigned keys and guest rooms.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role, preferably within the hospitality industry (hotel, guesthouse, lodge).
- Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, with a focus on safe usage.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience in a 3-star hotel environment or higher.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both Sesotho and English.
