Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our dynamic team in Coral Gardens, Montego Bay. This pivotal role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who is passionate about creating a positive and productive workplace, while driving strategic human resource initiatives aligned with NCB’s business objectives. As the HR Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing all aspects of human resources functions for our local operations, acting as a trusted advisor to management and an advocate for our employees.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, programs, and services that support our diverse workforce, promote employee engagement, and ensure compliance with all relevant Jamaican labor laws and regulations. This comprehensive role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational capabilities, capable of managing complex employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR information systems.
The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with NCB's strategic goals and Jamaican labor laws.
- Oversee the full recruitment and selection lifecycle, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviewing, offer management, and onboarding for local operations.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring fairness, competitiveness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Design and implement performance management systems to drive employee productivity, development, and accountability.
- Identify training and development needs, coordinating relevant programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Ensure compliance with all local labor laws, industrial relations acts, and human rights legislation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and manage HR information systems (HRIS).
- Foster a positive work environment, promote employee engagement, and cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide HR advice and support to management and employees on a wide range of HR issues.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an HR management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Jamaican labor laws, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- Experience working in the financial services industry.
