Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various HVAC systems, including AC units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Help diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Prepare, organize, and transport tools, equipment, and materials efficiently to and from various job sites.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, materials consumed, and the condition of serviced systems.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, local building codes, and industry regulations at all times.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Support the general upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the workshop area and company vehicles.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of HVAC principles and system components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in safely using common hand tools and basic power tools.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 25kg), climb ladders, and work comfortably in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions diligently and work collaboratively as an effective team member.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese.
  • Possession of a valid Mozambican driver's license, or the willingness and ability to obtain one promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certificate or vocational training in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or a closely related trades field.
  • Prior hands-on experience (e.g., internship, apprenticeship, or informal work) in a similar maintenance, construction, or trades-related role.
  • Familiarity with local Mozambican building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards pertinent to HVAC work.
  • Basic proficiency in English would be an advantage for understanding technical manuals and diverse client communications.
