Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing, repair, and maintenance on residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, central air conditioners, and ductless mini-splits.
- Troubleshoot electrical components, refrigerant systems, and control systems to accurately identify malfunctions.
- Clearly communicate findings, repair options, and pricing to homeowners, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Execute repairs and installations in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
- Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs, and parts used via mobile dispatching systems.
- Manage truck inventory effectively and ensure company vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building lasting relationships based on professionalism and reliability.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry advancements and new technologies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in residential HVAC service and repair.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and control components.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of residential HVAC equipment brands.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification in one or more specialties.
- Associate’s degree or vocational training in HVAC technology.
- Experience with smart home HVAC technologies and zone control systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Connecticut.
