Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks on HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
- Install, replace, and commission new HVAC systems and components according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, building codes, and relevant industry standards (e.g., F-Gas).
- Conduct energy efficiency assessments and recommend innovative improvements to clients for cost savings and environmental benefits.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional communication with clients and team members regarding service issues, solutions, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate service records, detailed job reports, and comprehensive documentation of all work performed using digital systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests, ensuring prompt response and resolution to critical issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as an HVAC Technician, including extensive diagnostic and repair work.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and their operational principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for complex systems.
- Valid F-Gas certification (Category 1) is essential.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to identifying root causes.
- Strong communication and exceptional customer service skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, or an equivalent recognized industry qualification.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) for monitoring and controlling HVAC operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to the HVAC industry and working at heights.
- Prior experience gained within commercial or industrial HVAC settings, dealing with diverse equipment.
