Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic analyses for a variety of projects, including stormwater management, floodplain mapping, watershed studies, and water quality assessments.
- Develop, calibrate, and apply hydrological and hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM) to simulate water flow, predict flood risk, and analyze drainage systems.
- Perform detailed site investigations, field data collection, and hydrological monitoring as required.
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports, presentations, and design documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Utilize GIS software (ArcGIS) for spatial analysis, data visualization, and mapping of hydrological features and data.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including environmental engineers, civil engineers, planners, and biologists.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, project scopes, and cost estimates.
- Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to water resources and environmental protection.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in hydrological analysis and water resource management.
- Proficiency with hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
- Strong working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local water resource regulations.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork, including site reconnaissance and data collection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 1-2 years.
