Job Description

VM Wealth Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Operations Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our investment operations, providing essential support to our investment professionals and contributing to an exceptional client experience. As an Investment Operations Assistant, you will be instrumental in managing daily trade activities, reconciling portfolios, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with various back-office functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and settle daily investment transactions, including equities, fixed income, and mutual funds, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
  • Reconcile client portfolios, bank accounts, and brokerage statements on a regular basis, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate client records, investment data, and transaction logs within our financial systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of various reports, including performance reports, regulatory filings, and client statements.
  • Support the front office team with client inquiries related to account activity, statements, and trade confirmations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Perform data entry and administrative tasks to support overall investment operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., portfolio management, compliance, client service) to streamline processes and resolve operational issues.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist in updating operational procedures documentation.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and assignments as required to support the operations department.

Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with investment management software or trading platforms.
  • Knowledge of local and international financial regulations.
  • Completion of relevant financial industry courses or certifications (e.g., JSE Securities Course).
