Digicel Jamaica is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Associate to join our dedicated technology team in Rockfort, Kingston. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our internal IT systems and providing exceptional technical support to our employees. As an IT Support Associate, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related queries, ranging from hardware and software troubleshooting to network connectivity issues. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and system issues to internal users via phone, email, and in-person.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common software applications issues (e.g., Microsoft 365 suite, custom applications).
- Assist with user account management, including creation, modification, and password resets in Active Directory and other systems.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Document IT issues, resolutions, and procedures accurately in the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or specialized teams when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of IT assets and managing software licenses.
- Educate users on IT best practices and security awareness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT support processes and documentation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of experience in an IT support role or similar.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
- Experience with hardware diagnostics and repair for desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification.
- Experience with Active Directory user and computer management.
- Knowledge of basic server operations and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ITIL foundations.
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
