Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Technician to join our client’s dynamic team in Malindi, Kilifi County. As an IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related queries and issues, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our client’s IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network problems for both end-users and internal systems.
Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of tasks, from setting up new workstations and configuring software to maintaining network connectivity and providing remote support. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and preventative maintenance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with security policies.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, including connectivity, Wi-Fi, and basic server issues.
- Document all support activities, resolutions, and configurations accurately in the IT ticketing system.
- Educate users on best practices for system usage and data security.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to improve support processes and enhance user experience.
- Assist in managing IT inventory and procurement of hardware/software as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and common software applications.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers) and software problems (Windows OS, MS Office Suite).
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Customer-service oriented with a patient and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
