Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to internal users via various channels (in-person, phone, email).
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including basic connectivity problems and Wi-Fi access.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures accurately in our ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff when necessary, ensuring smooth handover.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions across various systems and platforms.
  • Perform routine system checks, preventative maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Educate users on basic IT best practices, security awareness, and efficient software usage.
  • Contribute to maintaining an organized, secure, and efficient IT workspace and equipment storage.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for technical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated customer service-oriented mindset and a patient demeanor.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving IT environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (diploma or certificate) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or other relevant entry-level IT certifications.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Desk, Zendesk) is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and active directory.
  • Previous customer service or help desk experience, even in a non-IT capacity.
