Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to construct articles such as window frames, doors, staircases, furniture, and cabinetry.
  • Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently to perform cutting, shaping, and finishing tasks.
  • Install fabricated components, including frames, doors, windows, and fittings on-site, ensuring precision and alignment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all company and industry safety standards.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with other tradespersons and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Joiner, demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Excellent knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and machinery.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required for manual tasks.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification in Carpentry or Joinery.
  • Experience with various types of wood and composite materials.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic First Aid certification.
