Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial settings to join our growing team. This is an exceptional full-time opportunity for an individual passionate about precision electrical work, troubleshooting complex systems, and contributing to the efficient operation of industrial facilities. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and safety of critical electrical infrastructure, from power distribution systems to sophisticated control mechanisms. Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of tasks, including the installation of new electrical systems, preventative maintenance on existing equipment, and rapid response to unexpected breakdowns. We work with various types of machinery, motor control centers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and instrumentation. A keen eye for detail, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and unwavering adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all safety protocols are paramount in this role. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical equipment and wiring systems in industrial environments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions using various testing devices (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems, including motors, generators, transformers, and control panels.
  • Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments.
  • Bend, cut, thread, and install conduit, pulling wires and cables through conduits and other pathways.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local electrical codes, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Collaborate with other trades and engineers to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Required Skills

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex electrical systems
  • Experience with motor control circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and PLCs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with high-voltage systems (up to 480V or higher)
  • Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems
  • Associate's degree or vocational training in Electrical Technology
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
