Sagicor Group Jamaica is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cloud Technician to join our growing IT infrastructure team. As a Junior Cloud Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our cloud-based systems and services. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure components on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Monitor cloud system performance, availability, and security using various monitoring tools and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
- Perform routine system checks, backups, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Provide first-level support for cloud-related incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues to senior technicians.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve technical issues and implement new cloud solutions.
- Document cloud configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with cloud technologies and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud operations and services.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Foundational knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
