Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including workstations, utensils, and equipment, are clean and sanitised according to health and safety standards.
- Support the cooking process by monitoring food items, stirring, and ensuring proper cooking temperatures under supervision.
- Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and quantity, and ensuring items are correctly stocked and rotated.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions.
- Assist in the plating and presentation of food items for the deli and bakery counters.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling effectively, adhering to company policies.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and food safety practices at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment, assisting colleagues as needed.
