Job Description
Moon Palace Jamaica is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Kitchen Assistants to join our culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food service to gain valuable experience in a high-volume, luxury resort kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role, ensuring the seamless operation of our kitchen by assisting chefs and cooks with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing kitchen areas. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and cleaning kitchen equipment.
- Organize and store food supplies, utensils, and equipment in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management.
- Support the culinary team during service periods, ensuring a steady flow of prepared ingredients and clean tools.
- Assist with receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy of orders.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and food sanitation guidelines and regulations.
- Dispose of waste properly and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or kitchen management to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
