Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated, organized, and energetic Kitchen Helper to enhance our dynamic culinary team at Lakeside Hotel, located in the serene setting of Ha Ramokoatsi, Mafeteng. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with all aspects of food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment.
- Ensure kitchen workstations, surfaces, and floors are kept spotless and free from hazards at all times.
- Receive, unpack, and store incoming food supplies, rotating stock efficiently to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Organize and maintain dry storage, refrigeration, and freezer areas, adhering to inventory management principles.
- Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of food service areas, including buffets and catering events.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager promptly.
- Strictly adhere to all food safety and hygiene protocols, including HACCP principles, to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
- Support the culinary team during peak service hours to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal delivery.
- Perform other general kitchen duties as assigned by senior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
