Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machinery, ensuring all dishes, cutlery, and glassware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils by hand as required, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including floors, walls, work surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Assist with the proper disposal of kitchen waste and recycling, ensuring bins are emptied regularly and areas are kept tidy.
  • Receive and store deliveries, rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and fridges, following established safety protocols.
  • Monitor and report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the general tidiness and cleanliness of the restaurant's back-of-house areas.
