Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kubernetes Administrator to join our dynamic and growing infrastructure team in Netherton, Liverpool. This is a critical role that will see you at the heart of our cloud operations, responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our Kubernetes clusters and associated container orchestration platforms. As a Kubernetes Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our core services, working closely with development and operations teams to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance system reliability.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes clusters across various environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
- Monitor Kubernetes cluster health, performance, and resource utilization, implementing alerts and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues related to Kubernetes, Docker, and underlying cloud platforms.
- Automate routine operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Manage network configurations, storage solutions, and security policies within the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment, scaling, and operational efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Kubernetes features, best practices, and cloud-native technologies.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical infrastructure incidents.
- Document system designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Kubernetes Administrator or DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Kubernetes.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, components, and concepts (e.g., Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, Persistent Volumes).
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, especially Docker.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing Kubernetes on them.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing) within a Kubernetes context.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
- Knowledge of GitOps principles and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux CD).
- Familiarity with secrets management solutions (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Kubernetes Secrets).
- Experience with database administration in a containerized environment.
