Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests across various disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, parasitology, etc.).
- Collect, process, and analyze patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, functionality, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and adhere to strict quality control and quality assurance procedures to guarantee reliable test results.
- Document and report test results accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner using relevant systems.
- Maintain detailed records of tests performed, results, and quality control data for audit and reference.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory specimens and hazardous waste in compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, laboratory policies, and national guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient management.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology and practices.
- Manage laboratory inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist in ordering necessary supplies to prevent shortages.
