Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and reagents according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform routine laboratory experiments and tests with precision and accuracy, under supervision.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Record, organize, and analyze experimental data, maintaining thorough and accurate laboratory notebooks and digital records.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality control measures, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Assist senior scientists and researchers with various tasks, including literature reviews and experimental setup.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to senior staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding experimental design and results.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment (e.g., pipetting, microscopy, pH meters).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in data recording and basic report writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a research or academic laboratory setting (even through coursework or internships).
  • Knowledge of chemical safety procedures and hazardous waste management.
  • Experience with specific analytical instruments (e.g., spectrophotometers, centrifuges) is a plus.
  • Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
