Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and reagents according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform routine laboratory experiments and tests with precision and accuracy, under supervision.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Record, organize, and analyze experimental data, maintaining thorough and accurate laboratory notebooks and digital records.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality control measures, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Assist senior scientists and researchers with various tasks, including literature reviews and experimental setup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to senior staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding experimental design and results.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment (e.g., pipetting, microscopy, pH meters).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data recording and basic report writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a research or academic laboratory setting (even through coursework or internships).
- Knowledge of chemical safety procedures and hazardous waste management.
