Key Responsibilities
- Sort and separate laundry items by fabric type, color, and degree of soil.
- Operate commercial washing, drying, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring correct water temperatures and detergent dosages.
- Inspect linens and other items for stains, damage, or wear and tear, and take appropriate action.
- Fold, iron, and press all laundry items according to established standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory of linen and laundry supplies, reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of chemicals.
- Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as required to support the hotel's operations.
- Handle guest laundry requests with discretion and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, and push carts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
