In this entry-level position, you will receive comprehensive training on all aspects of laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and preparing various types of fabrics. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and separate laundry items by color, fabric type, and degree of soil.
- Operate commercial washing, drying, and folding equipment according to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and proper folding; re-wash or report as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens and garments neatly for storage or distribution.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment and surrounding workspace.
- Monitor laundry supply levels and communicate needs to supervisors.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking of linen as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the laundry department.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags (up to 25 lbs) regularly.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in a work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
