Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of warehouse associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through diligent cycle counting, reconciliation, and proper documentation.
- Oversee all receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Implement and rigorously enforce all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies to maintain a safe workplace.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and storage capacity.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and performance metrics, providing regular feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- Proactively resolve operational issues, employee conflicts, and logistical challenges in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Warehouse Team Lead or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management best practices, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or a certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with local health and safety regulations specific to warehousing (e.g., Saskatchewan OH&S).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
