Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team, specializing in efficient fabric and linen management. Based in our Long Ashton facility, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and care for a wide range of textiles. You will be responsible for the entire laundry process, from sorting and washing to drying, ironing, and folding, ensuring all items meet our rigorous quality and hygiene protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry items by fabric type, color, and required wash cycles, identifying items needing special treatment.
- Operate industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Monitor wash cycles, adjusting settings as necessary, and ensure proper use of detergents and cleaning agents.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and wear, reporting any issues to management.
- Fold, stack, and organise clean linens and garments efficiently for storage and distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organised laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspace.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and storage of chemicals.
- Track inventory of laundry supplies and linens, notifying supervisors when reordering is necessary.
- Assist with the delivery and collection of linens as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for laundry operations and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a commercial setting.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags and carts.
