Job Description
We are seeking a diligent, reliable, and detail-oriented Laundry Room Worker with flexible hours to join our dedicated Facilities team at The Granite Club. This vital role is instrumental in ensuring the consistent cleanliness, freshness, and availability of linens, towels, uniforms, and other fabric items essential for the smooth and impeccable operation of our diverse facilities. As a Laundry Room Worker, you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of hygiene, presentation, and comfort that our esteemed members and staff expect.
Your responsibilities will encompass the entire laundry process, from meticulous sorting and washing to efficient drying, precise folding, and organized storage of a wide array of items. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron a variety of laundry items, including towels, uniforms, tablecloths, and other linens, strictly adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers) safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect all laundered items for stains, damage, or wear, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors for appropriate action.
- Ensure the proper use and secure storage of laundry detergents, chemicals, and supplies, strictly adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and all equipment, including regular cleaning of machines, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Accurately track and manage laundry inventory, assisting with stock counts and replenishment as required to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with team members and other departments to meet operational demands and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Assist with other general facility duties as assigned, contributing to the overall upkeep and pristine condition of the club premises.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, standing, and pushing laundry carts for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, order, and quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Ability to understand and accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Basic understanding of commercial laundry equipment operation or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hospitality, club, hotel, or similar institutional setting.
- Familiarity with various fabric types and appropriate washing, drying, and stain removal techniques.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols and chemical handling related to laundry operations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support club operations.
