Key Responsibilities
- Sort and pre-treat laundry items according to fabric type, color, and degree of soiling.
- Operate commercial washing, drying, and ironing machines safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper use of detergents, softeners, and other laundry chemicals, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, and quality of wash, re-laundering or reporting as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, and guest clothing neatly and uniformly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including machines and work surfaces.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report needs to supervisors to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on laundry equipment, reporting major issues promptly.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory counts of linen and uniforms as required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and their appropriate use.
