Job Description

As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will be at the forefront of crafting engaging and impactful learning journeys tailored specifically for students. You will work closely with various internal teams, academic partners, and industry experts to identify skill gaps, develop innovative training solutions, and facilitate workshops that inspire growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging and interactive learning modules, workshops, and training programs specifically tailored for student audiences.
  • Conduct thorough learning needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development areas relevant to student career readiness and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, mentors, and external partners to curate and create up-to-date, relevant, and impactful learning content.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and critical thinking.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats, including e-learning, blended learning, simulations, and case studies, to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage learning management system (LMS) content, user access, and reporting for student programs.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in learning and development, educational technology, and student career services to bring innovative practices to Career.zycto.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to students on professional development pathways, goal setting, and skill enhancement.
  • Support the creation of career development resources, guides, and tools for students.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering engaging learning programs and workshops.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in presentation and facilitation techniques, capable of engaging diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of student challenges and career aspirations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a student services, academic support, or campus recruitment environment.
  • Knowledge of career development frameworks, coaching methodologies, and mentorship program best practices.
  • Certification in instructional design, training and development, or a related professional credential.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to Toronto's diverse population is an asset.
