Job Description

Confederation College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Learning Management System (LMS) Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in supporting the effective use and administration of our learning management system, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for both faculty and students. As an LMS Coordinator, you will provide essential technical support, assist with course setup and content management, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our online learning environment. You will collaborate closely with faculty, IT, and instructional designers to troubleshoot issues, implement system updates, and maintain data integrity. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for faculty and students related to LMS usage, including login issues, course access, and content display.
  • Assist with the setup, organization, and maintenance of course shells, user accounts, and content within the LMS.
  • Upload, manage, and update course materials, assignments, quizzes, and other learning resources as directed by faculty.
  • Generate basic reports on LMS activity, user engagement, and course completion for internal analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of LMS issues, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and instructional designers on system upgrades, integrations, and new feature implementations.
  • Develop and update user guides and FAQs to support self-service for common LMS inquiries.
  • Conduct basic training sessions or create tutorials for faculty and staff on new LMS features or best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accessibility standards within the LMS.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in learning technologies and LMS administration.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an LMS administration or support role (e.g., Brightspace D2L, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Education Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Experience working within a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and online pedagogy.
  • Certification in a major LMS platform (e.g., Brightspace Certified Administrator).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for content formatting within an LMS.
