Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and presentations with precision and accuracy.
  • Manage and organize electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documentation is current and easily accessible.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support ongoing cases and projects.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates, and manage calendars for legal professionals.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external communications, handling inquiries professionally.
  • Assist in the preparation for hearings, trials, and meetings, including compiling binders and exhibits.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes, and ensure timely distribution.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and client data.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
  • Support the legal team with billing procedures and expense reporting as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant legal secretarial qualification (e.g., CILEx, Paralegal Certificate).
  • Experience with legal practice management software.
  • Familiarity with various areas of law (e.g., corporate, property, litigation).
  • Knowledge of legal research tools and databases.
