Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research using various online databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), primary sources, and secondary materials to support attorneys on active cases and prospective legal issues.
  • Analyze statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other pertinent legal authorities to ascertain their relevance and application.
  • Prepare comprehensive research memorandums, summaries, and reports detailing findings, analysis, and recommendations for legal strategy and client advice.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings, by providing relevant citations, legal arguments, and supporting evidence.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, case law updates, and industry trends to identify potential impacts on clients and legal strategies, keeping the team informed.
  • Verify the accuracy and currency of all legal information, citations, and precedents used in documents and advice.
  • Organize and maintain research materials, legal databases, and documentation for easy retrieval and future reference, ensuring compliance with firm standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of research and integrated legal solutions.
  • Present research findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to legal teams and occasionally to clients, adapting communication style as needed.
  • Participate in internal training and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge, research skills, and stay abreast of emerging legal technologies.

  • Previous experience in a law firm or corporate legal department setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
