Key Responsibilities
- Vigilantly monitor pool areas to prevent accidents and ensure patron safety.
- Respond immediately and effectively to emergencies, performing rescues and administering first aid/CPR as necessary.
- Enforce all swimming pool rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pool environment, including deck, changing rooms, and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and report any hazards or maintenance issues.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and assisting patrons with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Attend and actively participate in all mandatory training sessions and in-service development programs.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the pool facility as required.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the facility.
Required Skills
- Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent.
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Excellent observational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- High level of physical fitness and stamina.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard in a busy leisure facility.
- Additional certifications such as AED (Automated External Defibrillator) or Pool Plant Operator.
- Experience in customer service roles.
- Water safety instructor certification.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
