Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and portion control guidelines, focusing on Italian cuisine.
  • Set up and stock your assigned station with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment before service.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of food products to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor food quality during all stages of preparation and cooking.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and checking deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and front-of-house staff regarding food availability and special requests.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen atmosphere.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced restaurant setting, preferably with Italian cuisine.
  • Proficiency in various cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to culinary excellence and consistency.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific Italian regions and their culinary traditions.
  • Experience with pasta making, risotto, and various Italian sauces from scratch.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately and consistently.
  • Fluency in Italian is a plus but not required.
