As our Live Streaming Technician, you will be the backbone of our virtual productions, ensuring technical integrity from pre-production planning to post-event archiving. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and operate all live streaming hardware and software (cameras, microphones, mixers, encoders, streaming platforms).
- Monitor live broadcasts for audio/video quality, connectivity, and overall technical performance, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly during live events to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Manage video and audio encoding, transcoding, and delivery protocols (RTMP, HLS, SRT, etc.).
- Perform pre-event testing and calibration of equipment and network connections.
- Provide technical support and guidance to presenters and internal teams regarding streaming best practices.
- Archive and organize recorded content for future use, including basic post-production support if required.
- Stay current with emerging live streaming technologies, platforms, and industry trends.
- Document technical procedures, configurations, and incident reports.
- Collaborate effectively with content creators, producers, and other stakeholders from a remote setting.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with live streaming software (e.g., OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast).
- Strong understanding of audio/video principles, codecs, formats, and compression.
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras, audio mixers, and lighting equipment.
- Solid knowledge of network protocols and basic network troubleshooting (IP addressing, bandwidth requirements).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in a live environment.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote team collaboration.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup suitable for live production.
- Experience with various streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube Live, Vimeo Live, Twitch, Facebook Live).
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Media Production, Broadcasting, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in audio/video engineering or related IT domains.
- Experience with cloud-based streaming solutions and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom Webinar, Microsoft Teams Live Events).
- Basic knowledge of graphic design or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience working in a fully remote or hybrid work environment.
