Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and manage client relationships, identifying their lending needs and providing expert advice on appropriate financial products.
- Conduct comprehensive credit assessments, analyzing financial statements, credit history, and other relevant data to determine loan eligibility and risk.
- Prepare and present loan proposals, ensuring compliance with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate loan terms, conditions, and repayment schedules clearly and effectively to applicants.
- Actively participate in business development activities to attract new clients and expand the bank's loan portfolio.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, competitor offerings, and changes in lending regulations.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including credit risk, legal, and operations, to ensure a seamless and efficient lending process.
- Resolve client inquiries and concerns related to loans in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor existing loan accounts, identifying potential risks and taking appropriate action.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar credit-related role within the banking sector.
- Strong understanding of lending principles, credit analysis, and risk management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French.
- Demonstrated sales and negotiation abilities with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
