Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Coordinate and schedule all inbound and outbound shipments, optimizing routes and carriers for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and full physical inventories, reconciling discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce warehouse safety protocols and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor and track delivery performance, addressing any delays or issues promptly to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with internal sales, customer service, and procurement teams to align logistics with business needs.
- Analyze logistical data to identify trends, forecast demands, and recommend improvements to processes and systems.
- Negotiate with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers to secure favorable rates and service agreements.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs forms, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) for efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role in a warehouse/delivery environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
- Knowledge of local and international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCMP, APICS).
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a logistics context.
- Familiarity with the geographical layout and transport infrastructure of Jamaica.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, though English is primary for this role.
