Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator specializing in Warehouse Movement and Dispatch to join our dynamic team at Two Rivers Mall, Nairobi. In this pivotal role, you will be the linchpin in ensuring the seamless flow of products from our central warehouse to the retail floor, as well as coordinating direct customer dispatches where applicable. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing inventory levels, expediting order fulfillment, and maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of supply chain principles, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. You will be responsible for meticulously tracking shipments, managing documentation, and collaborating cross-functionally with various departments to ensure all logistics operations run smoothly and effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the movement of inventory within the warehouse and between the warehouse and Two Rivers Mall store location.
  • Manage the dispatch process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to the retail floor and direct customers.
  • Maintain precise inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS), conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Prepare and verify all necessary shipping and receiving documentation, including waybills, invoices, and customs forms.
  • Liaise with internal teams (store operations, procurement, sales) and external partners (suppliers, transport companies) to resolve logistics issues.
  • Optimize storage utilization and product placement within the warehouse for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to dispatch, delivery, and inventory accuracy, reporting on performance and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse and during dispatch operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any logistical challenges, delays, or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior logistics staff or warehouse personnel as required.
  • Generate comprehensive logistics reports to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management roles.
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, including dispatch, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CILT, CSCP).
  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with retail logistics and hypermarket operations.
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages is an advantage.
  • Experience with cold chain logistics or handling perishable goods.
