Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Officer to join our team in Meru County, Kenya. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding company assets, minimizing shrinkage, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for our operations, employees, and visitors. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures effectively.
  • Conduct discreet surveillance, thorough investigations, and professional interviews related to theft, fraud, and other security incidents.
  • Monitor advanced CCTV systems and alarms to proactively identify and respond to suspicious activities.
  • Perform regular foot and vehicle patrols of premises to deter crime and identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate reports on incidents, investigations, and security findings.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, operations teams, and local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Educate employees on loss prevention best practices and promote security awareness across all levels.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company security standards and established protocols.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security breaches, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Conduct inventory audits and integrity checks to identify and mitigate potential sources of loss.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in loss prevention, security, or a closely related field.
  • Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CCTV and various security monitoring systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough investigations and compile clear, detailed reports.
  • Unwavering high level of integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently and under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional security certification (e.g., Certified Protection Professional – CPP, or similar).
  • Prior experience specifically in a retail or warehouse loss prevention environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Kenyan security laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Valid First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in local languages (e.g., Kimeru, Swahili) in addition to English.
