Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Officer to join our team in Meru County, Kenya. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures effectively.
- Conduct discreet surveillance, thorough investigations, and professional interviews related to theft, fraud, and other security incidents.
- Monitor advanced CCTV systems and alarms to proactively identify and respond to suspicious activities.
- Perform regular foot and vehicle patrols of premises to deter crime and identify security vulnerabilities.
- Prepare detailed, accurate reports on incidents, investigations, and security findings.
- Collaborate effectively with management, operations teams, and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Educate employees on loss prevention best practices and promote security awareness across all levels.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company security standards and established protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security breaches, emergencies, and alarms.
- Conduct inventory audits and integrity checks to identify and mitigate potential sources of loss.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in loss prevention, security, or a closely related field.
- Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using CCTV and various security monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough investigations and compile clear, detailed reports.

- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional security certification (e.g., Certified Protection Professional – CPP, or similar).
- Prior experience specifically in a retail or warehouse loss prevention environment.
- Sound knowledge of Kenyan security laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Valid First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in local languages (e.g., Kimeru, Swahili) in addition to English.
