Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and innovative Machine Learning Engineer with a passion for transforming complex data into intelligent solutions? In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying scalable machine learning models that enhance our core HCM offerings, such as predictive analytics for workforce planning, intelligent talent matching, personalized employee experiences, and automated compliance solutions. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers throughout the entire ML lifecycle, from problem definition and data exploration to model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable, and efficient machine learning models for various HCM use cases within the Dayforce platform.
- Collaborate with data scientists to translate research prototypes and proofs-of-concept into production-ready, high-performance solutions.
- Implement MLOps best practices, including model versioning, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and maintain deployed ML models, ensuring optimal performance, accuracy, and reliability through logging, alerting, and regular retraining.
- Optimize existing machine learning algorithms and underlying infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in a cloud environment.
- Conduct thorough data exploration, feature engineering, and data preprocessing to prepare diverse datasets for model training and validation.
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, software engineers, and QA to seamlessly integrate ML solutions into the broader Dayforce application.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related technologies, actively proposing new ideas and methodologies to enhance our product roadmap.
- Document technical designs, model specifications, API interfaces, and operational procedures clearly and comprehensively.
- Participate in rigorous code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of technical excellence.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, Keras).
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning, reinforcement learning) and statistical concepts.
- Strong practical experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Apache Airflow) for model lifecycle management.
- Strong command of SQL and experience working with various database systems (relational and NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP for ML model deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, modular, and efficient production-grade code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a strong analytical mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computing frameworks.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies beyond basic usage (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of A/B testing and experimentation methodologies for evaluating and iterating on ML models.
- Experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM) or FinTech industry, understanding domain-specific data and challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
