Job Description

This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive on-the-job training and a clear pathway for professional growth within our esteemed organization. As a Marine Crew Assistant, you will play a vital supporting role in the daily operations of our fishing vessels or other marine craft. Your primary focus will be to assist the senior crew members in various tasks, learning the ropes of maritime operations, vessel maintenance, and safe fishing practices. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior crew members with the preparation, deployment, and retrieval of fishing gear and equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the vessel's deck, equipment, and living quarters.
- Participate in vessel mooring, unmooring, and anchoring procedures under supervision.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with the handling, sorting, and storage of catch according to company standards.
- Maintain a vigilant lookout while at sea and report any observations to the navigating officer.
- Participate in regular safety drills, including fire fighting and abandon ship exercises.
- Support the loading and unloading of supplies and provisions.
- Follow instructions diligently and contribute positively to team cohesion and morale onboard.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in challenging marine environments.
- Basic communication skills (verbal) in Portuguese or local languages.

- No prior marine experience required – full training will be provided.
