Job Description

Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Marine Shipping Clerk to join our team in Waterford, Portmore. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, customs declarations, and delivery orders.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, port authorities, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate cargo clearance and delivery.
  • Track and monitor cargo movements, providing regular updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain organized records of all shipping activities and documentation, both physical and digital.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist in the coordination of vessel operations, including pre-arrival and post-departure procedures.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipping documentation or cargo handling in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and transport departments to facilitate efficient cargo flow.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with shipping management software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP).
  • Familiarity with Jamaican customs regulations and port procedures.
  • Experience working with flexible schedules and managing priorities effectively.
