As our Marine Tour Coordinator, you will be the central hub for all our marine-based excursions, from mesmerizing snorkeling trips to vibrant dolphin safaris and exhilarating deep-sea fishing adventures. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of these tours, from the initial booking inquiry to the joyous return of our guests. You will be instrumental in crafting positive memories for travelers from across the globe, ensuring their safety, comfort, and satisfaction while immersing them in the stunning marine life and crystal-clear waters surrounding Zanzibar. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of marine tours, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation (boats, guides, equipment).
  • Manage bookings, reservations, and tour itineraries efficiently, ensuring accurate communication with guests and operational teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests regarding marine tour inquiries, providing comprehensive information, answering questions, and resolving any issues promptly and courteously.
  • Liaise closely with boat captains, marine guides, and other operational staff to ensure smooth tour execution and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of marine tour equipment, ensuring all gear is in excellent condition and readily available.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate financial records, and prepare daily/weekly tour reports.
  • Conduct pre-tour briefings and post-tour debriefings with guests and staff to gather feedback and continuously improve service quality.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local marine regulations, environmental protection guidelines, and company safety standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the guest experience and promote sustainable marine tourism practices.
  • Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Contribute to the marketing and promotion of marine tour offerings through compelling content and engaging interactions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in tour coordination or a similar role within the tourism industry (minimum 3 years).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse clientele and team members.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Swahili is highly advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with marine safety protocols and first aid procedures.
  • Proficient in using booking software, Microsoft Office Suite, and general office equipment.
  • A passion for marine life, conservation, and sustainable tourism practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., German, French, Italian).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zanzibar's marine ecosystems and local attractions.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
