Ltd., a premier construction firm known for its commitment to quality and innovation, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mason for general construction projects in the vibrant Lang’ata area of Nairobi. As a crucial member of our on-site team, you will be instrumental in laying the foundational structures and finishing elements that define our prestigious developments. Key Responsibilities
- Precisely lay bricks, concrete blocks, and natural stone to construct and repair walls, partitions, foundations, and other structures according to architectural blueprints and specifications.
- Mix mortar, grout, and concrete to the correct consistency, ensuring optimal bond strength, durability, and aesthetic finish for all masonry work.
- Perform intricate plastering, rendering, and screeding, achieving smooth, level, and durable finishes on both internal and external surfaces.
- Install various types of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone, ensuring accurate alignment, proper spacing, and a professional, watertight finish.
- Accurately read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine materials required, construction methods, and project timelines.
- Measure, cut, and shape materials as needed, utilizing a range of hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and maintained.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, company policies, and best practices, contributing to a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and foremen, to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion.
- Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and Seyani Brothers' high benchmarks.
- Identify and report any structural issues, material defects, or potential hazards to the site supervisor promptly and proactively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a mason in general construction.
- Proficiency in bricklaying, block laying, stone masonry, plastering, and tiling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent physical stamina and dexterity.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Understanding and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites.
