Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality audio mastering for a variety of projects, including music albums, singles, EPs, podcasts, and other audio content.
  • Ensure optimal tonal balance, dynamic range, loudness, and clarity for all mastered tracks, preparing them for commercial release across diverse platforms (streaming, CD, vinyl).
  • Collaborate with artists, producers, and internal teams to understand their artistic vision and provide expert feedback and guidance on mix preparations.
  • Utilize and maintain state-of-the-art analog and digital mastering equipment, software, and plugins.
  • Conduct critical listening sessions to identify and address sonic issues, ensuring consistency across entire projects.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and communication with clients effectively and professionally.
  • Archive and organize mastered files and project metadata according to established protocols.
  • Stay current with industry standards, trends, and advancements in audio mastering technology and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues encountered during the mastering process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our mastering workflow and quality control procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Mastering Engineer in a studio environment.
  • Expert proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Cubase, or Ableton Live.
  • Deep understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, psychoacoustics, and advanced audio processing techniques.
  • Proven expertise in using mastering-specific plugins and hardware (EQs, compressors, limiters, saturation, metering).
  • Exceptional critical listening skills with a highly trained ear for subtle sonic nuances.
  • Strong knowledge of various audio formats, codecs, and delivery specifications for different platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of mastered projects across various genres.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific mastering DAWs like SADiE or Pyramix.
  • Familiarity with DDP creation and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency in acoustical analysis and room calibration.
  • Experience in vinyl pre-mastering.
  • Active participation in audio engineering communities or professional organizations.
  • Certifications from recognized audio institutions.
