Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, document observations, and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting and respectful environment.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, including tidying rooms and sanitizing equipment.
- Assist with basic wound care, medication reminders (under supervision), and other delegated tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient privacy guidelines.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a healthcare support role (e.g., caregiver, personal support worker, nursing assistant).
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Commitment to patient safety and ethical care.
